Upcoming webinar: Desiccation – how to apply diquat alternatives to potato crops

Next Wednesday, 19 August 2020, AHDB in the UK will host a webinar focused on potato desiccation. During this online event, participants will get an in-field view of this year’s SPot Farm desiccation trials, as AHDB continues to provide independent data on how best to replace diquat as a desiccant.

Observations from this year’s crop will be discussed, as well as a look at completed trial results from previous seasons and an interview with lead trials researcher Mark Stalham, before an online Q&A.

There will be a review of previous webinar trials on desiccation from across the SPot network, and chance to look at mechanical options with video footage of four brands of mechanical flail.

This webinar will cover:

  • Trial results from chemical desiccation work at SPot farms
  • Video and of four mechanical flail options
  • Updates and observations from trial work on this year’s crops
  • Interview with researcher(s) and grower(s)
  • A live Q&A – questions can be submitted before or during the event
