DormFresh is pleased to announce that, following the submission of new data, the French Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety (ANSES) has approved a significant reduction in the withholding period (WHP) for DORMIR® from 30 days to just 3 days. This change is effective immediately.
“This decision is great news for all stakeholders in the French potato sector as it allows for increased flexibility in sales,” said Alice Lorriaux and Jean Paresys, DormFresh representatives in charge of the French market.
This regulatory update represents a substantial improvement for the industry, enabling farmers and distributors to respond more rapidly to market demands while maintaining compliance with safety standards.
DORMIR® is an innovative anti-sprouting solution that extends the dormancy of potatoes, effectively controlling early sprouting. By reducing tuber respiration, DORMIR® keeps potatoes in a dormant state, minimizing weight loss and maintaining quality. The product is versatile, suitable for any strategy, and can be used in both fresh and industrial storage settings.
