Urschel to debut Little Gem Aspire Dicer at major global food processing trade shows in 2026

Urschel is set to unveil the Little Gem Aspire Dicer, a new cutting concept in fruit and vegetable processing, at upcoming tradeshows.

The new Little Gem will be revealed at select upcoming trade shows beginning in May 2026 including: Interpack Processing & Packaging in Dusseldorf, Germany from May 7-13; The National Restaurant Association Show in Chicago, Illinois, U.S.A. from May 16-19; FOOMA in Tokyo, Japan from June 2 – 5; and ProPak Asia in Bangkok, Thailand from June 10-13.

Invented by the Urschel Innovation & Development I&D (Innovation & Development) team, the Little Gem employs patented Urschel technology to create precision cutting methods, engineered through extensive R&D (research and development). Urschel I&D, alongside Urschel engineering and manufacturing teams, have invested quality resources into researching and working with many different customers worldwide to bring the new Little Gem to life.

The machine offers a small footprint to take up limited production space. The Little Gem is ready to run and produce ideal cuts including slices from 2 mm to 10 mm, strips, and dices up to 20 mm.

The new dicer is named after the original Little Gem. The legendary Urschel machine was a patented invention of Founder William E. Urschel in the early 1900s designed to remove stems and blossoms from gooseberries, a popular fruit during that time. One Little Gem could do the job of 100 workers in a day and revolutionized canning production.

The original Little Gem was one of the company’s earliest successes. It fostered generations of innovation that led Urschel to become the global leader in food cutting technology that it is today. Just as the original Little Gem was ahead of its time, the new Little Gem Aspire patent-pending methods will inspire today’s food processors.

Urschel will be releasing more information about the Little Gem on its website at www.urschel.com as the shows draw closer. Official reveals are scheduled to take place at the upcoming shows to invite customers to view the machine in-person and learn more about this new concept in cutting.
