Canada: Potato acres cut in Manitoba province

Potato farmers in Manitoba have undergone a substantial cut to their contracted acres this year. “We’re seeing a significant decline of acres, which is mostly due to a decline in french fry consumptions in the US. There are a lot less acres that will be put in the ground for french fry processing,” says Kyle Turner of Engage Agro, which sells crop protection products for potatoes.
