Potato growers on South Australia’s Kangaroo Island have welcomed a boost in yields. The island is known for having disease-free soil, giving its seed spud growers a competitive edge in the mainland marketplace. Parndana grower Peter Cooper says he harvested about 850 tonnes this year and says yields were definitely up.
