UK: Food waste plant to turn potato peelings into power

Potato peelings are being transformed from food waste into energy to warm thousands of homes. A new “anaerobic digestion” plant has opened at Waen near St Asaph where 22,500 tons of food waste from Conwy, Denbighshire and Flintshire will be processed each year and converted into enough electricity for 2,000 homes. It’s the largest scheme of it’s type in the country say Biogen, who run the plant.
