Canada: Potato Quality Institute gets equipment to test potato DNA for viruses

The Prince Edward Island Potato Quality Institute has purchased a Q1Axcel System that will enable them to improve laboratory productivity of essential testing services for Island potato producers. “The QIAxcel system will help to improve the turnaround time of PCR (polymerase chain reaction, a biochemical technology) results, in a timelier manner, so that the P.E.I. potato growers can meet potential export market requirements,” says Patrick Quilty, operations manager at the P.E.I. Potato Quality Institute. More
