No small potato: Denmark earns nearly a billion kroner a year from spud exports

Exports of potatoes have increased by 50 percent over the past ten years, according to the Agriculture & Food Council in Denmark. In 2013, the value of the exports reached 874 million kroner – a 60 percent increase in comparison to 2004. Danish potatoes are sold mostly to neighbouring markets. Sweden is the largest customer, followed by Germany and Norway.
