A new Rapid-Pin fast change blade system is now available for the popular Standen Powavator extra heavy-duty rotary tiller cultivator and bed former range. Requiring no special tools, each blade can be replaced in just a few seconds by removing a special hardened Rapid-Pin. Standen engineers have worked hard to keep Powavator operating costs low with this new development, and to improve on existing designs from competitors.
As well as offering a faster change time, the Rapid-Pin fast change rotor is equipped with hard metal bolt-on side plates, thereby lengthening the operating life of the rotor, since the complete rotor shaft need not be renewed should only a section of it require replacement.
Extensive field testing and development has been carried out around the UK, with exceptional levels of reliability being achieved in demanding conditions. Both new machines and existing PowavatorS were trialled, and existing owners will be pleased to know that the Rapid-Pin rotor system will be available as a retro-fit.
The introduction of the new Rapid-Pin system is in response to customer feedback, which has reflected considerable demand for a fast change blade system, particularly from potato growers looking to reduce costs and downtime during the busy planting season. The Rapid-Pin system with its special rotor is available for all new Powavator tillers, fitted with or without the company’s bed forming equipment.
Standen Powavator rotary tillers are available in a range of working widths from the 150-70, 1.80 metres (70 inches) model, up to a hydraulic folding 400-240, 6.00 metres (236 inches) wide machine. All models are manufactured at the companies Ely factory, Hereward Works.
The extra heavy-duty Standen Powavator is well known in many countries around the world as a tough, very well engineered rotary tiller with oil immersed gear side drives, its strength and weight make it very robust and reliable machine.
Standen Engineering Ltd manufactures a wide range of machinery for potato and vegetable growers, including bed formers, rotary tillers, planters, stone and clod separators, toppers and harvesters. Many of the company’s unique technologies are protected by worldwide patents.
