The Ministry of Agriculture on its quest to ensure that agriculture remains an contributing sector of the economy has imported new varieties of Irish potatoes as a means of encouraging farmers to diversify. During a tasting exhibition of the new potato cultivars on Wednesday June 3rd, Taletha Laudat a representative of the Division of Agriculture revealed that two new crops have recently been introduced to Dominica. “This year we did research on three new cultivars: Cheftain, Challenger and Spunta.
