New Norwegian gourmet potato

On the other side of the fjord of Trondheim is the south-facing peninsula of Frosta, which is famous for its vegetables, and particularly for its potatoes. Three farms in Frosta have now partnered to create the best gourmet potato; the result is pearl potato. “We want to be an alternative to the French Amandine potato. Our goal is to compete on both price and quality,” says Kari Helga Viken. Since last autumn, the three Frosta farms Viken Central, Valberg and Evenhus have been backing a scientific study to determine how to produce the best potatoes.
