Potato farmers have been urged to use certified seeds to boost their yield. The Kenya National Potato Farmers Association secretary general Edward Mwamba said many of the farmers use tubes from the harvests which are susceptible to diseases. “It is important that the farmers get use certified seeds since they are more productive than sorting them out from the harvested ones,” he said in an interview in Nakuru on Tuesday. He said potato farming is key to ending poverty in many of the households since it is the second most popular staple food after maize. More
