Washington potato growers are planning a potato tour to Ireland and Scotland June 27-July 8, 2016. Don McMoran, Washington State University Extension professor, and Frederick Smith, Oregon State University professor emeritus, will lead the group. Wisconsin potato growers and others in the industry are invited to attend. The potato study tour includes 12 days of discovery and visits to potato farms, vegetable farms, packing houses, distribution centers, research stations and grower cooperatives. Participants will be able to talk with growers, processors and potato-industry experts. Also included will be a sampling of Irish and Scottish culture, history, cuisine and scenery. Visit http://wisconsinpotatoes.com to review the itinerary, or contact the Wisconsin Potato and Vegetable Growers Association at 715-623-7683 for more information.
