US: ConAgra split won’t affect Quincy, Warden plants

Frozen French friesConAgra Foods is splitting the company in two, leaving Lamb Weston a food service for frozen potatoes and ConAgra controlling a group of food brands. The separation of the two companies should not affect Columbia Basin potato growers, according to spokeswoman Shelby Stoolman. The announcement marks the beginning of a reorganization process. The transaction is expected to be completed in fall 2016.“We don’t anticipate any change to our operations in Warden and Quincy, and we don’t expect our suppliers will see changes as a result of the announcement,” Stoolman said. “Lamb Weston will continue to make frozen potato products at our facilities in Washington, and we’ll need potatoes to do that.” More
