Australian R and D company announces “dairy alternative” from potato breakthrough.

PotatoMagic Pty Ltd, an Australian R&D company, recently announced a new product development that will change your view of the humble potato. The PotatoMagic lab has produced a dairy alternative based on potato (dairy is a USD$334B global industry.) The company has made cheese, milk and ice-cream alternatives in the lab, based on their potato processing innovations. The company is now embarking on a fundraising program to take the R&D trials to the prototype phase prior to commercialisation of the products. Spokesperson and CEO Andrew Dyhin has compared the development to the synthetic egg and other future food initiatives, gaining momentum in the US. Bill Gates, (Microsoft) Peter Thiele (Pay Pal) and Li Ka-shing (Asian Billionaire) are backing the artificial egg and other “future foods projects” as the planets population surges toward 9 billion. The backers of these new technologies see the projects giving us more food options to feed our growing population.

Chris Miller Former CEO, Simplot Australia has described “PotatoMagic as the single most innovative development in potato processing since the frozen fry ”
