US: Potato industry challenged to give 300 salad bars per year

With the potato industry already supplying more salad bars to the Let’s Move Salad Bars to School Initiative than any other produce sector, Blair Richardson of the U.S. Potato Board wants to aim even higher. With 180 salad bars placed in schools by the potato industry so far, Richardson, CEO of the Denver-based U.S. Potato Board, challenged to potato industry to donate salad bars to 300 schools per year, according to a news release. “Salad bars donated by the potato industry have been placed in school districts in sixteen different states,” Richardson said in the release. “The board is excited about the involvement of the potato industry in this program as state commissions, individual farms, and industry members have stepped up and become contributors.” More
