Scottish strategic potato farm announced

PERTHSHIRE’S Bruce Farms, one of the biggest potato growers in Scotland, has been announced as the host for the new AHDB Strategic Potato Farm. For the 2017, 2018 and 2019 growing seasons, the agricultural business, based at Meigle, which grows over 670 acres of spuds every year, alongside cereals, blackcurrants, soft fruit, peas, beans and a pedigree cattle enterprise, will be home to the ‘practical, farmer-driven project’ which aims to give potato growers the opportunity to examine and discuss new techniques and research.
