Webinar: Accurately identify and manage causes of potato blemishes

The causes of blemishes on potatoes are extremely varied and can lead to severe yield or economic losses, especially as consumers increasingly judge products on cosmetic presentation. Providing a detailed look at disease symptoms of potato and associated management strategies is a new educational presentation from the Plant Management Network (PMN) entitled “Blemishes of Table Potatoes: Common Biotic Causes,” now available as part of the Focus on Potato resource for growers, crop consultants, and extension agents. The webcast, developed by Jacquie van der Waals, Professor of Plant Science at the University of Pretoria in South Africa, provides a detailed look at some of the most common legions, scabs, and holes caused by fungi, bacteria, viruses, and nematodes.
