Potato farmers in Washington State are working hard to plant their crops, and they’ve been hard at work helping cancer research and educating legislators and students. Potato farmers donated $3,740 to the Ovarian Cancer Foundation, according to Ryan Holterhoff, director of Marketing and Industry Affairs for the Washington State Potato Commission. The proceeds, of a luncheon to celebrate women farmers at the Washington and Oregon Potato Conference, were donated to the fund at the request of family behind the Stahl Hutterian Colony of Stanfield, Ore.
