Michigan potato industry launches new integrated web site

The Michigan potato industry has a new look, feel and functionality online with the launch this week of the industry’s new website and database, www.MiPotato.com. The site provides a presence on the web for the Michigan Potato Industry Commission (MPIC), Potato Growers of Michigan, Inc. (PGMI) and the Michigan Seed Potato Association (MSPA). According to Mike Wenkel, MPIC Executive Director, “Some of the exciting features of the system is how the potato industry will be able to collaborate ideas and share production information.” By using the “Communities” functionality of the software, community members will be able to participate in open discussions with others posting questions, photos and other information. Initial discussion forums for Seed Growers, Fresh Growers and Chipping Potato Growers have been created and are open for growers to join. More
