US: Potato council joins Cuba trade group

The National Potato Council has joined a group that hopes to expand trade with Cuba. The Washington, D.C.-based council is now one of more than 100 organizations and businesses in the U.S. Agriculture Coalition for Cuba, according to a news release. Comprised of grower groups, state associations and agribusiness members, the coalition’s goal is to boost exports of U.S. agricultural products to Cuba. The group was founded on the belief that expanding agricultural trade between the U.S. and Cuba is the foundation for building successful and enduring relations between the countries, according to the release.
