The European Association for Potato Research (EAPR) organizes in Dundee Scotland, a scientific meeting named “Pathology and Pests Section Meeting 2016”, August 7-11. The program contains conferences on potato diseases, seeds health and the coordinated initiatives on plant health in Europe, but also special day dedicated to the potato industry. A copy of the full program can be found here. Pests and pathogens remain a major constraint to food security in a world where potato is rising in importance as a major food crop. The speakers will describe some of the main potato pest and pathogen threats on each of the five different continents (Africa, Asia, Australasia, North America and South America), to add context to our research in Europe and how it aligns with that of other nations worldwide.
