Belgium: Potatoes are washed in ‘Jacuzzis’

The potato company Warnez has recently installed pre-soak tanks, also known as “Jacuzzis for potatoes”. “This is unique in Belgium and still unprecedented for potatoes. The potatoes will have to spend less time in the washing installation due to this investment, thus decreasing the probability of damage and bruises.” the company says. “The ‘jacuzzis’ also increase the general quality and washability of potatoes and we can use the washing water in a more efficient way.
