Krispies fish and chip shop in Exmouth is in the running to be crowned the best fish and chip shop in the UK. Krispies which is located on Exeter Road, has been shortlisted as a finalist in the From Field to Fryer Award for the 2017 National Fish and Chip Shop Awards. Recognised for their efforts in creating the perfect chip, Krispies will now go head to head against fellow fish and chip shop contenders including, Papa’s in Hull and East Yorkshire and Towngate Fisheries in Bradford. To secure a place as a finalist, shops have been appraised across a wide range of judging criteria with a specific focus on the policies and procedures for the responsible sourcing of potatoes. Shops were also assessed on their potato knowledge, including types and seasonality, and the storage and preparation of the raw ingredients. More
