European potato processor purchases Pulsed Electric Field system

Pulsemaster, a producer of Pulsed Electric Field systems for potato processing, announced on Nov., 21 that it has entered into an agreement for the sale of a 100kW PEF system to a major producer of high-quality French fries and potato specialities. The customer is EU-based and operates in the potato processing industry. Pulsemaster’s proprietary PEF-technology will be used to treat whole potato tubers at a capacity of up to 60 tons (132.000 lbs) per hour for in a new potato processing line to make French fries. Terms of the sale were not disclosed. Mark de Boevere, Managing Director of Pulsemaster said, “We are extremely pleased that a European customer with very high standards and a global reputation has agreed to purchase Pulsemaster’s PEF equipment for their new French fries processing line with an input capacity up to 60 tons per hour (132.000 lb per hour).” Delivery of the Pulsed Electric Field system is expected to occur in the second quarter of 2017. Source: potatopro.com
