Parmentine Production has been in Voves since 1997, and they have bounced back into production following the fire on the site in 2013. They now use the latest technology for sorting and calibrating their potatoes. Dominique Père, Managing Director of the company, explains that with its 2,445 hectares, Beauce is their main production site. Following the fire they decided to use the most innovative technologies in the potato sector, “We looked for techniques that existed in other sectors, but not in fruit and vegetables”. Their innovative production lines now allow them to process 350 tons of potatoes a day and has room to stock about 55,000 tons. Parmentine Production mainly produces 1.2 and 2.5kg sachets, but microwaveable potatoes are also in full development as they are “practical and fast to cook”. The company has also just launched the Parmentine’s Cup, small new potatoes that are ready to cook. Parmentine Production has other sites in Brittany, Champagne, Picardy, Provence and the South West. They are one of the leaders in the sector with about a €100 million turnover. Source: Freshplaza.com
