Canada: Old Dutch chips recalled due to salmonella

Old Dutch brand Cheddar & Sour Cream Potato Chips are being recalled due to possible salmonella contamination. Distributed from Ontario west to B.C., Health Canada says the recall here was triggered when the product (along with other brands and flavours) was recalled by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on Dec. 14. So far, only Old Dutch brand Cheddar & Sour Cream Potato Chips in 66-gram and 255-gram bags are involved, but Health Canada says the recall could be expanded to other projects. Several products have been sold in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Northern Ontario. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is conducting a food safety investigation, which may lead to the recall of other products. If other high-risk products are recalled, the CFIA will notify the public through updated Food Recall Warnings. More
