Germany: Snack launches to look out for at ISM

All eyes are on Cologne as ISM (January 29 – February 1 at Koelnmesse) gears up to open its doors in less than a week. The show will be held conjunction with ProSweets, an ingredients, processing and packaging fair for the sweets and snacks industry. British potato chip startup John & John – owned by German company Market Grounds – will exhibit a range of GMO-free and gluten-free products at ISM. After being washed and thickly sliced, John & John crisps are fried in pure sunflower oil and, while still warm, lavished in spices and packaged to capture the crisp freshness. Gluten-free and vegan, the crisps use non-GMO vegetables. Naturals, from Lorenz Bahlsen Snack-world, is a range of crisps that will appeal to the nutrition-conscious, quality-driven consumer who wants complete transparency.
