US: Dieffenbach’s Potato Chips wants to build huge facility in Pennsylvania

Dieffenbach’s Potato Chips Inc. is proposing a satellite facility that could bring 100 or more new jobs to Bethel Township in Pennsylvania. The township planning commission reviewed plans at a meeting last week for a new warehouse and processing plant totaling 188,000 square feet. The classic Dieffenbach’s brand is sold through a store delivery network that covers central and eastern Pennsylvania. The company also makes more than 100 “private label” chip products for companies in the U.S. and Europe. Dieffenbach’s Potato Chips introduced a new product, Uglies, at the Pennsylvania Farm Show.The brand is focused on reducing waste for farmers by using potatoes that have minor imperfections. More
