Clarebout to open new frozen fry production site in Belgium

The potato processing company Clarebout announced its plan to open a new production site in the Economic Activity Zone of Frameries in Belgium. The company is already present in the municipality, operating since 2016 a potato storage and pre-processing center of around 97,000 square feet.

Now the firm would like to create a production unit of frozen fries and other products derived from the potato. This project, supported by the municipality and intercommunal IDEA, would represent an investment of at least 300 million euros [340 million USD] and could create 300 jobs.

According to Clarebout, some 200 farmers in a 30-mile radius around Frameries currently grow potatoes for the company.
