SRUC, SASA and The James Hutton Institute, the major Scottish knowledge, consultancy and research centres for potatoes in Scotland, have joined forces to launch a new potato initiative.
The new partnership brings together the combined complementary skills and outputs of the three institutions to create a world-leading centre for all aspects of potato, scientific, KE and consultancy activities.
The strategic partnership, branded ScottishPotatoes.Org will create a platform for cooperation with all external stakeholders in the sector, making research rapidly accessible to the industry and promote Scottish knowledge and innovations on the world stage.
SRUC is now seeking an experienced, high profile potato consultant or researcher to lead a new potato innovation partnership.
The successful applicant will set out and action an appropriate strategy for research activities and bring together the combined skills and outputs of the three institutions to create a world leading centre for all aspects of potato scientific, KE and consultancy activity, with a focus on making connections between research, production and commercialization.
The applicant will further develop the combined brand for ScottishPotatoes.Org and attract joint funding for research, creating a platform for cooperation with all external stakeholders in the sector in order to make research more readily accessible and relevant to the industry.
