International Potato Europe 2020 event officially cancelled

In a press release issued today, the organizing committee of the Potato Europe 2020 event announced that the event was regretfully cancelled due to concerns regarding the health safety of participants. The event was scheduled to take place on 2 and 3 September 2020 at Villers-Saint-Christophe in France.

Due to the international Covid-19 pandemic of recent months and the ensuing crisis, the organizers say the measures related to physical distancing and the restrictions on international travel that persist forced them to make this difficult decision.

The organizing committee expresses its sincere thanks to everyone involved in the intensive and dedicated preparations for this event – their hard work and the financial and staffing resources committed during the preparation period are highly appreciated.

The event would have been an excellent way to showcase the high standard of the potato industry in France, and the organizers are now planning other ways of promoting the French potato sector.

The next Potato Europe event is scheduled to take place in the Netherlands in September 2021.
