Aviko extends portfolio with premium products

Frozen potato brand Aviko is adding three new premium products to its portfolio, following research which found that chips and wedges are the two most popular frozen products consumers buy.

Super Crunch Julienne Fries (750g; £1.69) are “thin cut and extra crispy, offering shoppers fast food to cook at home, and retailers, excellent margins”. Bistro Garlic and Herb Wedges (600g; £1.39) are “crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside and lightly seasoned with a special blend of herbs and spices” Aviko Mashed Potato (700g; £1.49) “meets the consumer trend for simpler, more wholesome products”.

Shah Khan, senior marketing manager at Aviko UK and Ireland, said: “At a time when eating out is so limited due to ever changing Covid-19 restrictions, shoppers are placing more value in enhancing their at home eating experience.

“Offering a premium and varied frozen potato range is therefore essential for retailers looking to profit. Our new and extended range meets consumers’ needs on every level. Not only are the products restaurant quality, they also come in formats, sizes and price points that are perfect for current shopper lifestyles and different dietary requirements.”
