Effective from June 15, 2023, the GRIMME Group, based in Damme, Germany, will acquire the Polish agricultural machinery retailer, Agrarada, located in Brzezimierz near Wroclaw. Agrarada, founded in 1999 by Johan Kruijthoff, has specialized in the trade and service of potato, vegetable, and beet technology since its inception.
GRIMME was the company’s first supplier and has maintained a successful partnership with Agrarada for over 20 years. Agrarada’s dedicated sales and service team covers the entirety of Poland and western Ukraine.
“Poland is among the most significant potato and vegetable growing regions in Europe. This acquisition will allow us to further expand our market presence,” says Sebastian Talg, Managing Director of GRIMME Landmaschinenfabrik.
“Polish and Ukrainian customers can continue to depend on our proficient sales team, reliable service, and prompt spare parts supply. We also plan to offer continued employment to all 20 employees,” adds Dr. Michael Tönnies, Managing Director of the GRIMME Group.
“We have always invested a great deal of passion into the company, and we are pleased that GRIMME will continue to grow and develop it. Our team is familiar with GRIMME and is confident in a positive future,” state founder Johan Kruijthoff and co-partner Arek Brzyski.
GRIMME has been operating in Poland for over 40 years and established its own sales and service company in Środa Wielkopolska, 30 km southwest of Poznan, in 2010. Eight employees from GRIMME Polska oversee local sales and service partners, forming a robust link between the factory in Damme and the local Premium Partners.
Agrarada was established in 1999 by Johan Kruijthoff, a Dutchman who had already been deeply involved in potato cultivation in his home country. One of the first employees, Arek Brzyski, became a co-partner in the company in 2004. Today, Agrarada employs 20 people and has been selling spare parts online since 2017. The company has been exporting agricultural machinery to Ukraine since 2000 and opened a branch in Korchiv (Lviv Oblast) in 2019.
