The Bauer E-series reel irrigators have been known for their strength, performance, and durability. Recently, Bauer has made several improvements to the E-series, focusing on making operation and maintenance easier without compromising the product’s reputation.
The improved range will be showcased at BP2023 – the Potato Industry Event – on November 22/23 at the Yorkshire Event Centre, Harrogate.
Improved Mechanical Components
Adrian Tindall, Bauer UK & Ireland sales manager, said that the company has invested heavily in R&D to equip the market-leading Rainstar E-series for new digital technologies, including the Smart Rain remote monitoring and control app.
The latest improvements focus on enhancing the operator experience by improving access to mechanical components for servicing, maintenance, and setup.
Visual Changes and Improved Accessibility
The most noticeable change is the redesigned side guard that covers the reel-drive turbine and gearbox. Instead of being held in place by 10 bolts, the new version has catches that allow the cover to swing away, making it easier and quicker to access components like the belt and pulley.
This design change allows for better maintenance and setup.
Enhanced Features and Remote Access
The new E-series models come with a larger battery to power the Ecostar 6000 controller, which features a 4.3in LED touch-screen and membrane buttons for frequently used functions. Users can store up to 12 different irrigation programs that define retraction speed, pre-irrigation, post-irrigation, and speed zones, and retrieve them at any time for easier irrigation management.
Additionally, remote access via SMS on a mobile phone enables irrigation managers to stop and start the Rainstar irrigator, adjust retraction speed, check the machine’s status, and receive error messages. The Ecostar 6000 controller also records the session and running total of water used, thanks to a digital input on the irrigator’s water meter.
Improved Performance
The new Bauer E-series reel irrigators offer improved performance, ease of use, and maintenance, while maintaining their reputation for strength, performance, and durability. The changes include improved accessibility, enhanced features, and remote access, making them ideal for farmers and irrigation managers.
