Europatat 2024 Congress: Shaping the future of the European potato trade

Europatat is pleased to announce that registration is now open for its annual Congress, scheduled to take place in Brussels on May 23 and 24, 2024.

This year’s Congress, themed “European Potato Trade in 2030: A Sector in Transition,” will concentrate on the primary environmental, economic, and social challenges facing the potato sector and traders in the coming years. It will also explore the solutions and opportunities that new tools and techniques offer.

On Friday, May 24, renowned international keynote speaker Rik Vera will present an energizing and inspiring speech titled “How to Stay Relevant for People and Society Tomorrow and the Day After Tomorrow.”

Rik Vera

With over 18,000 followers on social media and more than 1,500 keynotes delivered in over 60 countries, Rik is a respected voice in business (models), entrepreneurship, leadership, marketing, extreme customer centricity, sales, and (digital) innovation.

Rik Vera comments, “The world has entered the Twilight Zone: old business models are slowly deflating, merging, and industry lines are blurring. Out of this chaos, a new world is rising with hundreds of new business models. We have an unprecedented opportunity to rethink how we produce, process, distribute, and consume food, water, energy, mobility, and more.”

The public conference on Friday will be moderated by Rose O’Donovan, an agricultural journalist and editor of AGRA-FACTS. It will also feature a panel discussion with distinguished speakers from European institutions and other potato stakeholders. More information will be announced soon – stay tuned!

The Europatat Congress will also host various social events, including the traditional Europatat Gala Dinner on Thursday, May 23, and farewell drinks on Friday, May 24, to foster networking and connections within the European potato community.
