Efforts to re-open Korea for fresh exports from the US continue

In response to questions from the US government, industry officials provided the latest information regarding efforts to maintain and reopen the Korean market for US fresh potatoes. Those discussions included ensuring chipping potatoes from the Pacific Northwest could continue to be imported at the end of this season and the lack of progress on restoring table stock access from the Pacific Northwest and several other states.  New access for additional states was also raised. The US government is expecting a response to a March 2014 letter on all of these issues by the Korean government in the coming months. (Source: National Potato Council)
