Tasmanian soil scientist recognised for research advancing vegetable industry

Covered in soil as a child, the German-born Tasmanian consultant knew she would make a career out of it in the paddock. This week industry group Ausveg recognised Dr Blaesing’s efforts on the Soil Wealth Project, with a Researcher of the Year Award, at its National Awards for Excellence on the Gold Coast. “A lot of the work was national work, helping growers understand best principles, better agronomy, their crop nutrition, their soils and training agronomists,” she said of the project. In the last few years with RMCG (agriculture, environment, and water consultants) and working with and for Ausveg; working with the vegetable and potato industries has really been a focus.” More
