US: Michigan potato growers promote healthy choices at Heart Walk event

On this week’s Ag Report on Greening of the Great Lakes, Mike Wenkel, executive director of the Michigan Potato Industry Commission (MPIC), talks about the role potatoes play in a healthy lifestyle, and a partnership between MPIC and the American Heart Association to promote healthy choices. “Paired with regular exercise, potatoes are part of a healthy diet that strengthens the heart and contributes to lower blood pressure,” says Wenkel. “That’s why Michigan’s potato growers are working with the American Heart Association to promote a healthy lifestyle and good nutritional choices.” More
