Produce World Group’s site at Sutton Bridge, Lincolnshire has become one of only 61 companies to be awarded the British Safety Council’s Sword of Honour for excellence in managing health and safety risks at work. Operations director for the potato processing and packing site Katie Stark said: “This is a fantastic endorsement for the work of the whole team at Produce World’s site at Sutton Bridge. Excellence in this aspect of our business drives business performance and helps us to successfully meet the needs of our customers.” British Safety Council chief executive Mike Robinson said: “All of the Sword and Globe winning organisations share a commitment and resolve to achieving the highest standards of health, safety and/or environmental management. We are delighted that they are partners in helping achieve our vision that no one should be injured or made ill at work.” Stark and health, safety & environment manager Nigel McConachie received the award at an event in the City of London on Friday 27 November.
