Food scientists at Stellenbosch University in South Africa have invented a chocolate spread crammed full of vegetables — the ultimate “stealth health” ingredient for school lunchboxes. S’coolBeans is being developed as a low-cost chocolate and hazelnut-flavoured spread made from fermented sugar beans and sweet potato. The scientists are hoping to develop the concept and get it onto the market.
