Extension plans annual Maine Potato Conference

The University of Maine Cooperative Extension will host the 34th annual Maine Potato Conference on Wednesday, Jan. 23 and Thursday, Jan. 24, 2019, at the Caribou Inn and Convention Center.

The Central Aroostook Young Farmers Trade Show will also take place at the center, with informational booths. Events are planned from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.

Experts will address such topics as powdery scab, fumigation practices, phosphorus study and conclusions, certification lab post-harvest testing, use of potatoes in beef feed, insect control studies, economic updates and more.

Online registration is preferred by Friday, Jan. 19. The cost with online registration is $25 for one day or $35 for both days. Registration at the door is $35 for one day or $45 for both days.
