In an email to her newsletter recipients this morning, Dr Eugenia Banks, organizer of the 2019 Ontario Potato Conference and Trade Show expresses her satisfaction with the outcome of the event which was held in Guelph this past Wednesday, March 6.
Says Dr Banks: “The 2019 Ontario Potato Conference and Trade Show, supported by the Potato Board, was a big success. There were about 280 attendees, which exceeded our expectations. Excellent speakers, a great Trade Show, opportunities to network and… good food were the reasons given by growers, crop consultants, researchers and potato industry personnel for the success of this event.
“A special thanks to the speakers from Ontario: Dr. Peter VanderZaag, Charles Emre and Mark VanOostrum. They did an outstanding job. It was a privilege to have them speaking at the Conference.
“Also thanks to those who worked at the Registration Desk: Terry Lippold ( Ontario Potato Board) Carla Vander Zaag (Sunrise Potatoes), Laura Aarts (Bayer CropScience) and Paul Banks. Jaber Husiny (University of Guelph) kept the audio-visual system working perfectly.
“Kate VanderZaag, Mark VanOostrum and Dr. Peter Vander Zaag, the chairpersons of the morning and afternoon sessions, kept the sessions running on time!
“The potato conference could not be held without the generous support of sponsors and exhibitors; they make it happen! Their names are on the list below.
“Last but not least, a big thank you to all the conference attendees. This event was for you!”
