Dear Potato readers,
Warm greetings here from the east coast of Canada! I wish to inform you that we are now planning to publish a new and updated version of the one and only World Catalogue of Potato Varieties this year. We envision a total print run of 5,000 copies of the updated Catalogue, but will also publish it for the first time as a digital version on the Internet.
The printed version has been published six times since 1999 by Erling Verlag in Germany; sold in over 70 countries around the world, and we now plan to publish a 7th Edition. It will include a listing of more than 5,000 variety names with their characteristics.
This edition will be published as a printed book, but now also in digital format online. With the addition of a digital version on the Internet for the new edition, we have no doubt that the reach will be much enhanced. Basic information about the 2014 edition of the Catalogue can be found here.
We will be most happy to include any new varieties of potato companies involved in potato breeding from around the world.
Sponsorship and advertising:
In addition to a comprehensive list of varieties, we offer interested companies the opportunity to sponsor the new Catalogue, and in effect advertise any preferred varieties in the printed book, as well as in the online digital version (including the names of your variety contacts in different countries and any other details about your varieties that you would like to make public).
