Thousands attended International Potato Technology Expo on Prince Edward Island

The 2020 edition of the International Potato Technology Expo welcomed professionals from across North America back to Charlottetown on Canada’s Prince Edward Island this past Friday and Saturday.

According to the organizers, the industry event took Charlottetown by storm with an impressive display of equipment and products, alongside an educational conference attracting hundreds of delegates.

3,078 attendees walked the show floor to check out diverse exhibits from local, regional, national, and international companies. Dozens of exhibitors at the show debuted cutting-edge and innovative products including new potato varieties, the latest models of equipment, innovative growing technology, and more.

Show Manager Shawn Murphy was pleased to report on the success of the event.

“We saw very strong attendance this year, with a busy Friday and overall high quality attendees throughout the event,” he commented. “With a full show floor and wall-to-wall exhibits, we saw lots of equipment, many new products and launches, and exhibitors representing international companies. Attendees especially enjoyed the well put together conference. Special thanks goes out to our partners and sponsors for helping us bring together another great edition of the expo.”

Murphy thanks presenting partners, Prince Edward Island Department of Agriculture and Land and the Prince Edward Island Potato Board, along with major sponsors, Farm Credit Canada and Syngenta.

Attendees entered at the show to win door prizes from sponsors Allan Equipment Manufacturing Ltd; Fernrob Carwash & Pressure Cleaning Systems; Greg Raynor Enterprises; Helly Hansen Workwear; and Premier Tech Agriculture. Winners of the prizes will be posted to the show’s website.

The International Potato Technology Expo takes place biennially in Charlottetown. The next edition will occur in 2022 and information will be posted online at as it becomes available.
