Scouting resources available for Canadian potato growers and scouts

Canadian growers and scouts can now download three scouting resources from the Potatoes in Canada website that will help them know when and what to scout for in potato fields.

On May 21 and 28, 2020, Potatoes in Canada hosted a webinar series with Eugenia Banks, potato specialist with the Ontario Potato Board, on how to scout pests, diseases and physiological disorders in potatoes. In addition to the webinar series, Banks has made her scouting resources available as PDFs for download.

By filling out the form on the Potatoes in Canada website, you will instantly receive:

  • Potato disease calendar: provides a timeline of when to scout for which diseases.
  • Potato insect calendar: provides a timeline of when to scout for which pests.
  • Scouting Guide: provides general best practices for scouting potato fields and an in-depth look on specific issues, including insect threshold numbers.

These resources are gated by a form to protect the work that went into them by Eugenia Banks. The information gathered will not be shared with any third parties.
