Virtual event: Canadian Potato Summit 2023

Potatoes in Canada magazine will host the Canadian Potato Summit 2023 as a virtual half-day event on January 12, 2023 at 12:00pm ET. The event will include live sessions focused on industry and agronomy updates from prominent leaders in the potato sector.

On the agenda:

Made you look’ – A comparison of potato diseases and their symptoms: Gary Secor, professor of plant pathology at North Dakota State University, will talk about a new potato disease and some old potato diseases that have similar symptoms in storage.

Tracking N dynamics within the potato root zone: Haider Abbas, applied research specialist at the Canada-Manitoba Crop Diversification Centre in Carberry, Man, will share findings from this recent study in Manitoba.

Industry panel – Insights from across the country: The panel discussion will share yield and acreage updates, comment on potato growing challenges and successes, and panelists will make their best predictions for the coming year. Presentations by:

  • Victoria Stamper, United Potato Growers of Canada
  • Greg Donald, P.E.I. Potato Board
  • Shawn Brenn, Ontario Potato Board
  • Terence Hochstein, Executive Director, Potato Growers of Alberta
