Canadian Potato Summit to feature presentations on potato diseases, nitrogen dynamics

The third-annual Canadian Potato Summit, a free half-day virtual event, will be hosted by Potatoes in Canada magazine tomorrow, January 12. It will take place at 12:00 PM in Eastern Time (Canada and US).

Presentations:

  • Gary Secor, professor, plant pathology, at North Dakota State University, will share a comparison of certain potato diseases that present with similar symptoms.
  • Haider Abbas, applied research specialist, Canada-Manitoba Crop Diversification Centre, will give a presentation on tracking nitrogen dynamics within the potato root zone, and
  • The return of the annual industry panel, featuring Victoria Stamper of the United Potato Growers of Canada, Greg Donald with the P.E.I. Potato Board and Shawn Brenn with the Ontario Potato Board. Panelists will take a look at potato production across the country, reflect on the 2022 season and look ahead to 2023.
