HyFun Foods, a leading exporter of frozen potato products from India, has partnered with Woolworths, Australia’s largest retail chain, as Anurag Sharma reports for The Economic Times Retail.
This collaboration, valued at over Rs 25 crore ($2.91 million) for 2025, introduces HyFun’s premium frozen potatoes to over 1,000 Woolworths stores across Australia. HyFun aims to capture a double-digit market share in Australia’s frozen potato market, which consumes approximately 450,000 metric tons annually.
To support this expansion, HyFun plans to invest Rs 1,100 crore ($128.33 million) over the next three years to scale production, foster innovation, and develop new product lines tailored for global markets. The company will export all products for this partnership from India, leveraging the superior taste and quality of Indian potatoes.
This partnership follows a successful collaboration with Walmart USA, where HyFun introduced its frozen food range to American consumers. The company aims to replicate this success in Australia through its collaboration with Woolworths, Your Spud Co and other partners.
HyFun Foods’ executive director Kamlesh Karamchandani and MD & Group CEO Haresh Karamchandani highlighted the partnership’s strategic importance, emphasizing the growing global acceptance of Indian products and HyFun’s commitment to meeting international quality standards.
