Michigan potato vodka awarded for taste

Michigrain Distillery took home the “gold” for Michigan potato vodka in the MicroLiquor Spirit Awards recently. The vodka, which is made in Lansing, won the 2018 Gold Medal for Taste

“Using potato as a base is what gives this particular vodka it’s smooth, award-winning taste,” said Michigrain President/CEO Scott Ellis.

Most vodkas that can be purchased today are made from grain, not potatoes.

Vice President and Distiller Mike Bird adds, “I enjoy producing this product made with 100% Michigan agriculture especially as Michigan crops rank among the best in the country.”

They were also recognized for the 2018 Silver Medal for Package Design.

The Michigrain Vodka is sold in more than 150 stores and can also be found in bars and restaurants across Michigan.
